Bradman And Bowman Perform Australian Songs For Melbourne Digital Concert Hall
Friday evening’s Australiana theme continues on Melbourne Digital Concert Hall with soprano Greta Bradman and pianist Calvin Bowman performing an intimate recital of sensitive, contemplative music from some of Australia’s greatest composers of song.
The performers: Greta Bradman – Soprano/ Calvin Bowman – piano
The program: Exquisite songs by Calvin Bowman, including the world premiere of his latest song Love’s Lantern with text by Joyce Kilmer as well as an arrangement of Danny Boy that Bowman has provided especially for this concert.
Also, Dulcie Holland’s A Pastoral Madonna and of the last songs Peter Sculthorpe wrote – his 2012 version of Patrick White Fragments – which he sent to Greta as a gift after she had sung a previous version (this version includes a new middle section).
