Dudamel Conducts Dvořák On Deutsche Grammophon

Gustavo Dudamel conducts the Los Angeles Philharmonic in this new recording of Antonín Dvořák’s late symphonies, including the famous ninth, “From the New World”. This release from Deutsche Grammophon also features Dvořák’s seventh and eighth symphonies.

Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, of which he is music director, were greatly lauded for their live performances of Dvořák’s final three symphonies in February 2020 at Walt Disney Concert Hall. These concerts were recorded by Deutsche Grammophon for release as a digital album.

The LA Times’ Mark Swed said in his review “Dudamel and the L.A. Phil … smoked it. There was fire and fury. It was an announcement of something urgent and great. Want a soundtrack for a moon launch? This would lift a rocket out of the Earth’s atmosphere.”
