Early Colonial Music In Songs Of Home From Omega Ensemble

Songs of Home is a fascinating production which tells the story of music played and enjoyed in NSW during the first 70 years of the colony, from Australia’s first piano to music hand-copied by Jane Austen.

In partnership with Sydney Living Museums, Omega Ensemble presents three intimate concerts at The Mint, Macquarie Street as part of this exciting musical exhibition.

Concert One: Songs of Home, Sunday 22 September 2019, 2pm, features music by Bach, Beethoven and a new commission by composer Laura Bowler inspired by the Songs of Home exhibition featuring soprano Jessica Aszodi.

Concert Two: Mozart & Beethoven, Sunday 6 October, 2pm, works for Clarinet and Strings by Crussel, Mozart and Beethoven
Concert Three: Summer Winds, Sunday 8 December, 2pm, Wind Quintets by Holst, Ligeti and Damase
