The Japan Foundation in Sydney is running ECHOES, a series of events from February 9 – March 10 which explores the cross-cultural musical collaborations between Japanese and Indigenous Australians. Of particular interest is a talk and performance by old friend and colleague, Indigenous didgeridoo player and dancer Matthew Doyle, and shakuhachi Grand Master Riley Lee.

The talk is entitled Harmonies in Japanese and Aboriginal Australian Music.
