Fresh from a hugely successful season as Zurga in Opera Australia’s new production of The Pearlfishers,  baritone José Carbó takes to the stage with guitarist brothers Slava and Leonard Grigoryan for My Latin Heart, a celebration of his heritage, the passion and beauty of Latin music.

Together they will transport you to Buenos Aires to showcase some of Argentina’s most beautiful and popular songs taught to José by his grandfather. This popular programme includes Lara’s Granada, Piazzolla’s Ave Maria and Oblivion and tangos such as CaminitoMi Buenos Aires Querido and Adiós.

Following José’s lauded performance as Rodrigo in Verdi’s Don Carlo, last year,  ABC Classics re-released his 2012 album My Latin Heart, a recording collaboration with the Grigoryan brothers.

Nominated for the ARIA Classical Record of the Year, the My Latin Heart album shot straight to the No. 1 position on the Limelight Classical Music Charts upon release.
