Music Without Borders
Violinist Henry Avila and pianist Irma Enriquez formed Duo Deconet in 2008 whilst performing in concerts of contemporary Latin American Chamber Music. They discovered they shared a passion for music and in promoting their national musical heritage, leading them to champion music by important Latin American composers in their classical repertoire.
Music Without Borders is a celebration of chamber music by composers from Latin America and Australia, and includes premieres of works fused with eclectic sounds, sensual rhythms, high energy and special appearances of some of the composers. The concert brings together two continents and living composers, through the vibrancy and excitement of Latin American rhythms.
Featured composer include Miguel Bernal Jimenez, Alejandro Corona and Carlos Salomon from Mexico, Paul Dessene from Venezuela, Costa Rican Eddie Mora, and Australians Daniel Rojas, Margaret Brandman and Elena Kats-Chernin.
Tickets: $25/$15
