Omega Ensemble’s Maria Raspopova and David Rowden

The Sydney based chamber group, Omega Ensemble led by their charismatic young Artistic Directors, David Rowden (clarinet) and Maria Raspopova (piano) present Ravel Impressions, a programme of three trios and a quartet. The concert will be preceded by a talk at 6.45 pm.

Performing Ravel’s String Quartet in F major, Fauré’s Piano Trio in D minor, Arensky’s Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor and Mozart’s Trio in E flat major, the players will explore the intricate shadings of these four strong works.

Omega Ensemble was formed 13 years ago and has built a solid reputation along with a dedicated, growing audience for their spirited and intelligent presentations of the chamber repertoire and their performances of new Australian works.

Maria and David have brought together a hand-picked group of musical colleagues especially for these 4 pieces. This is a group of players whose passion and respect for the music will shine through in their performance. The space and clarity found in smaller ensemble works is a perfect platform for their soaring musicianship both individually and as an ensemble.
