Piers Lane to perform Beethoven’s ‘Emperor Concerto’

Renowned Australian pianist Piers Lane joins Willoughby Symphony for Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No 5 ‘The Emperor’.  Conducted by Tom Woods, the concert will also feature Schubert’s  Symphony No 9 ‘The Great’ and Mozart’s Overture to ‘Der Schauspieldirektor’.

 

In great demand as a collaborative artist, Piers Lane’s 2007 performance of Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto received the Limelight Magazine Award for ‘Best Orchestral Performance in Australia’. A five times soloist at the BBC Proms at Royal Albert Hall, his concerto repertoire exceeds 80 works which he has performed in over 40 countries with numerous leading orchestras, including the BBC, ABC, Gothenburg, Australian Chamber, Kanazawa Ensemble, and the Royal Philharmonic orchestras and the Orchestre National de France
