Pletko: A New World Of Sound From Ensemble Offspring

Ensemble Offspring will once again introduce audiences to a new world of sound when they present Plekto – a concert program tracing the avant-garde legacy of the legendary Iannis Xenakis

 True to its reputation for innovative and adventurous programs, outstanding performances and highly developed audience engagement this programme contains virtuosic and adventurous selection of seldom heard chamber music from around the globe.

It includes a world premiere by Berlin based Mexican composer Juan Felipe Waller (funded by the Noisy Egg Creation Fund), alongside two Australian premieres with mesmerising activity on stage and complex sound worlds.

Iannis Xenakis – Charisma; Anthony Pateras – Broken then Fixed then Broken; Kaija Saariaho – Oi Kuu; Beat Furrer – Lied (Australian premiere); Jonathan Harvey – The Riot (Australian premiere); Juan Felipe Waller – new work (world premiere); Salvatore Sciarrino – Appendice Alla Perfezione; Iannis Xenakis – Plekto
