Resonance Concerts and events presents cellist Paul Stender in concert with pianist Chris Cartner, performing Rachmaninoff’s sonata for cello and piano which is surely one of the highlights of the Russian Romantic chamber music repertoire.

Written for cellist Anatoliy Brandukov (the ‘best man’ at the composer’s wedding) the work displays all of the great expressive (as well as technically mesmerising) qualities of the instruments. Fans of the ever-popular “2nd Piano Concerto” will love this smaller masterpiece, composed in the same year of 1901.
