The Joan Sutherland and Richard Bonynge Foundation is presenting a special charity fundraising concert in aid of the 2015 Bel Canto Award for young singers.Performing in the concert will be 14 emerging opera artists who will perform a selection of Rossini songs, arias, duets, quartets and the hilarious Act 1 Finale from L’italiana in Algeri, accompanied by Glenn Amer.
Rossini was a consummate writers of opera and vocal music and this concert aims to bring to audiences and singers some of his most beautiful and rarely heard works. Created by the Foundation’s Artistic Director Fiona Janes, this afternoon charity concert will include highlights from La Cenerentola, L’italiana in Algeri, William Tell, Mose in Egitto, Stabat Mater, La cambiale di matrimonio, L’Assedio di Corinto, Soirees Musicales, Zelmira and more.
Refreshments served with all proceeds going toward the 2015 Bel Canto Award for young singers.
The featured singers are Maia Andrews, Morgan Balfour, Rachel Bate, Zoe Drummond, Sarah Toth, Jessie Wilson, Vivian Conacher, Eleanor Greenwood, Anna McDougall, Damian Arnold, Damien Noyce, Joshua Salter, Damien Macey and James Olds.
