Seraphim Trio Becomes A Quartet For November Tour
The Seraphim Trio returns to the Independent Theatre on their latest national tour, with guest violist Martin Alexander. Their program comprises Haydn’s ‘Gypsy’ Piano Trio in G, Mozart’s Piano Quartet in G minor and Dvořák’s Piano Quartet in E flat as part of the Prelude in Tea series which includes the Independent Theatre’s legendary afternoon tea.
Seraphim Trio is one of Australia’s leading chamber ensembles, and last week won the ARIA award for Best Classical Album, with Paul Kelly and James Ledger, for 13 Way to Look at Birds.
The Trio comprises three musicians whose formative musical experiences at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) set them on the road to success. For this national tour of piano quartets, pianist Anna Goldsworthy, violinist Helen Ayres and cellist Tim Nankervis are joined by fellow ANAM alumnus Martin Alexander (viola). Martin has participated in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s Fellowship program and has performed with most of Australia’s major orchestras since concluding his ANAM studies in 2016.
Tickets: Adult $49, Conc/Under 30 $32, Student $22, Child $17 Afternoon tea included.
