As part of their year-long immersion in Schubert, the Seraphim Trio will perform a two concert series of recitals of Schubert’s music devised around his entire chamber works for piano trio.

The Series 1 concert The Wanderer, features two of Schubert’s trios while the Series 2 concert Schubertiade features 4 works including the Notturno D 897, the rarely heard piano quartet D 487 and the famed Trout Quintet for which Seraphim Trio will be joined by violist Jacqui Cronin, Sydney bassist David Campbell and Belinda Kendall-Smith from Adelaide.

Seraphim Trio, comprising Helen Ayres, Anna Goldsworthy and Tim Nankervis has made an outstanding contribution to the musical life of Australia over the last two decades. The trio has remained steadfastly committed to chamber music, from building the contemporary repertoire to developing new audiences and teaching the next generation of performers. A regular guest at music festivals throughout Australia, Seraphim has released two CDs on ABC Classics, the latest Beethoven Piano Trio, and has commissioned a broad repertoire of new Australian works.

Pianist Anna Goldsworthy is a Lecturer at the Elder Conservatorium of Music, Research Fellow at the J.M. Coetzee Centre for Creative Practice at the University of Adelaide, and Kenneth Moore Memorial Music Scholar at Janet Clarke Hall. Anna has published two memoirs, Piano Lessons and Welcome to Your New Life, and is author of the Quarterly Essay Unfinished Business.

Violinist Helen Ayres is a Doctoral graduate of the University of Melbourne. Helen has appeared as leader of the Flinders Quartet, a member of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and guest principal with Orchestra Victoria and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra

Cellist Timothy Nankervis is a member of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Soloists and Sonus Quartet. He was a member of the inaugural Australian World Orchestra in 2011, teaches at Sydney’s Conservatorium of Music and tutors regularly for Sydney Sinfonia, Sydney Youth Orchestra and Australian Youth Orchestra.
