Sydney Eisteddfod 2021 Moves Online
Sydney Eisteddfod has announced that the 2021 Festival will continue on screen after coming to a sudden halt last June. The 2021 Festival will accept video submissions across all performance genres and the adjudicators will be judging and providing their feedback digitally.
Rather than cancel the remainder of the 2021 Festival and, recognising the importance of performance opportunities for young artists, live or digital, the Sydney Eisteddfod pivoted rapidly and moved to an online format inviting an ovewhelming response from entrants. The only time the festival was cancelled, prior to 2020, was during WWII.
This year Sydney Eisteddfod was already running ‘video submissions’ for choral and instrumental groups to still compete, which has proved to be a success and broadened the competition to regional areas.
Sydney Eisteddfod has reopened most of the remaining performance events for 2021. Entrants wishing to perform online via video submission can search through all Sydney Eisteddfod events and enter at https://sydneyeisteddfod.com.au/
