‘Tango Paradiso’ at The Blue Beat

untitled

Tango orchestra Tango Paradiso, brings the electric energy and smouldering passion of tango alive. Born in the bordellos of Buenos Aires at the turn of last century, the music of the tango plays the field between the harmonic complexities of jazz, the technical brilliance of classical music to finish finally in the silky sensuality of Piazzolla’s great tango tunes.

With South American pianist Daniel Rojas, Slav violinists Moshlo and Romano Crivici, Carla Thackrah, former ex principal flute with the Australian Opera,  and bassist Bella Brown, the band is a mix of the best and wildest musical temperaments on offer!

This night they’re joined by two special guests – the wonderful voice of Nadia Piave a singer well know to both concert and radio udiences with a repertoire ranging from renaissance song through to cabaret and world music and virtuosic Slovenian accordion player Marko Deferri.

The band has performed and recorded in Buenos Aires, played at many world music and tango festivals around Australia and appear regularly at the Woodford Folk Festival.

Try out your tango moves or just watch the experts on the floor. Either way you’re in for a night of sensual pleasure.
