Time again to start thinking about the Sydney Eisteddfod, an annual festival of music competition stretched over two months from June to August. Whether you’re an opera singer or a tap dancer; an orator, rock ensemble or violinist, there are categories for a wide variety of talent. There are events for classical and contemporary piano, instrumental, dance and singing, along with a section for budding composers, three opera scholarships, two ballet scholarships, a valuable instrumental scholarship and the coveted Sydney Eisteddfod Musica Viva Award for Chamber Music. Many of the categories are sub-divided according to age.

The closing date for entries is officially 13 March. A lot of our performers comment that that mustering the courage to enter is hardest part. So – performers be brave! It’s invaluable experience!
