The Willoughby Symphony conducted by Matthew Wood, presents Nature, featuring the music of Bohemia, guest artists, music by Composer-in-Residence Daniel Rojas and a world premiere by the 2017 Willoughby Symphony/Fine Music 102.5 Young Composer of the Year.

Opening with Smetana’s endearing composition, The Moldau, journey across the Czech countryside, past the lush backdrop of the Bohemian forest, arriving at the glorious Castle Vyšehrad with a performance of Dvořák’s Symphonic Variations.

In two special guest appearances, distinguished horn virtuoso, Hector McDonald will join the orchestra to perform Strauss’ magnificent Horn Concerto, and mezzo-soprano Jenny Duck-Chong is the soloist in 2018 Composer-in-Residence, Daniel Rojas’ Cantos Españoles: Three Songs of Garcia Lorca, a trilogy that celebrates the tragedy and triumph of innocence, love, and unbridled passions.

Nature will also feature the world premiere performance of the winning work by the 2017 Willoughby Symphony/Fine Music 102.5 Young Composer of the Year.
