Adrian Collette Announced As New Chair Of Australia Council’s Major Performing Arts Panel

The Chair of the Australia Council Mr Rupert Myer AO announced today, the appointment of Mr Adrian Collette AM as the new Chair of the Council’s Major Performing Arts (MPA) Panel. Mr Collette succeeds the outgoing Chair Mr Julian Knights.

Announcing the appointment Mr Myer said “Adrian brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise about Australia’s performing arts sector and the MPA framework, as well as a great passion for arts education and performance more broadly. He is a highly respected member of the Australia Council Board and I am very thankful he is also willing to take on this leadership role.”

Mr Collette was for 16 years CEO of Opera Australia, the nation’s largest performing arts company, before taking up a position as Executive Director, Engagement and Partnerships at the University of Melbourne in 2013. He took up his current role as Vice-Principal (Engagement) in early 2014.
