NSSO flyer GALLIPOLI CONCERT

The North Sydney Symphony Orchestra conducted by Steven Hillinger and led by concertmaster Maria Lindsay, plays a programme of music themed around conflict in a concert commemorating the centenary of the Gallipoli campaign of World War I.

The centrepiece of the concert will be the world premiere performance of Australian composer Graham Howard’s Symphony No. 2 ‘Gallipoli’ written especially to commemorate this anniversary.

As well, the orchestra will be performing Mars – the Bringer of War from  the Planets Suite by Gustav Holst and Albinoni’s much loved Adagio, along with works by Australian composers Miriam Hyde (Heroic Elegy) and Graeme Koehne (The Voyage).
