The Brandenburg Quartet is an exciting new ensemble on Australia’s chamber music scene. Comprising the four principal string players of the multi ARIA Award-winning Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, the quartet will bring to the stage loved quartets of the classical repertoire as well as brilliant works by composers rarely heard today, all on period instruments.

Touring the hometowns of the four players – Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide, will be the Brandenburg’s concertmaster Shaun Lee-Chen from Perth, who will lead the quartet as first violin, with violinist Ben Dollman, viola player Monique O’Dea and cellist Jamie Hey, Says Shaun, “The Brandenburg Quartet is exciting for me as I’ve always wanted to be in a String Quartet on period instruments… We are bringing the unique sound world of the Brandenburg into a more intimate setting, presenting known masterpieces in a new light, as well as exploring lesser-known gems for the medium.”
